چکیده

A transimpedance amplifier (TIA) is designed based on the first order wave equation. The feedback resistance is set as the ohJective function for transimpedance. The main feedback amplifier provides transimpedance and a wide band compensation amplifier determines the characteristics of overall TIA. The stability of lhe T lA is not affected due to the open loop nature of compensation. Simulation results show that the TIA achieves a 58 dB gain and 1.32 GHz bandwidth in a 0.25 ym standard CMOS process.

Analyzing the Effect Adding an Active Feedback Network with an Inductive behavior to a Common-Gate Topology as a Transimpedance Amplifier for Low-Power and Wide-Band Communication Applications

Common Gate (CG) topologies are commonly used as the first stage in Transimpedance Amplifiers (TIA), due to their low input resistance. But, this structure is not solely used as a TIA and comes with other topologies such as differential amplifiers or negative resistances and capacitances. This paper deals with analyzing the effect of adding an active feedback network to a common gate topology...

A High Gain-Bandwidth Product Distributed Transimpedance Amplifier IC for High-Speed Optical Transmission Using Low-Cost GaAs Technology

Baseband front-end amplifiers operating from DC to several GHz are required from high speed optical transmission systems. Classical direct-coupled baseband transimpedance amplifiers have high gain but their high frequency performance is limited by the parasitic capacitances of the transistors. Their upper frequency limit is empirically known to achieve only a 30% of the transition frequency (fT...

Design of a Three-Stage High-Bandwidth CMOS Transimpedance Amplifier

This report describes the development of a transimpedance amplifier that takes current as input and gives voltage as output. The amplifier consists of three CMOS amplifier stages in a fed-back configuration, achieving a transimpedance gain over 3 kΩ and a 3-dB bandwidth greater than 2.8 GHz. The amplifier operates with a 1.5 V supply voltage and a power budget of 30 mW.
